Intrasoft Intenational and Dialogos partnership

03/2000

Dialogos signs an agreement of major importance with Intrasoft International. Intrasoft becomes a stockholder of Dialogos S.A. with a 51% share, with the aim of jointly developing automated systems and information services built upon the speech recognition technology.
Among the goals of this important Intrasoft-Dialogos agreement are:

  • The development of automated information and customer services over the telephone
  • The automation of call centers
  • The development of voice-enabled e-commerce services over the telephone
  • The development of voice portals, which would expand the conventional portals’ potentials due to the use of speech
  • At the same time, the two firms will proceed to the geographic expansion of their activities to the Balkans and the wider area

The speech recognition technology is a breakthrough at the information services field, as the users of speech-enabled applications have access to information and services through, exclusively, voice commands and speech stands as the most direct, easy and efficient way to perform transactions. The demand for such services is constantly increasing. In the United States, in particular, the demand is remarkably high as these systems can be implemented in a variety of businesses: banks, financial institutes, telecommunications organizations, travel associations etc., whether these are public or privately owned.

Dialogos represents in Greece the American company Nuance Communications, headquartered in Menlo Park, USA. Furthermore, the two companies cooperate on a research basis, aiming at the further development of the speech recognition system. Nuance Communications is a pioneer in last-generation speech recognition systems, supporting natural language (human-like conversations) understanding and serving through its implemented speech solutions more than two million calls on a daily basis. Dialogos has adapted Nuance’s speech recognition software into the Greek language
