Dialogos announces the development of its speech recognition system in the Greek language

11/1999

Dialogos S.A. is pleased to announce that the adaptation of the Nuance Communications’ speech recognition system to the Greek language has been completed. Nuance Communications is a pioneer in last-generation speech recognition systems, supporting natural language (human-like conversations) understanding and serving through its implemented speech solutions more than two million calls on a daily basis.

Nuance Communications' speech recognition software is a cutting-edge system offering the possibility of natural speech understanding, despite the significantly large vocabulary involved in such a task and without demanding the system’s training by new speakers according to each solution’s requirements. This system is based on the technology developed at the Technological Institute of Stanford by Dr Vasilis Digalakis (also CEO of Dialogos SA) and his associates. The adaptation of this system to the Greek language has been based on different voice samples taken from thousands of speakers throughout Greece.

The speech recognition system will be implemented in a multitude of applications, covering the fields of telecommunications, travel, finance, e-commerce and voice-enabled internet access.
