Dialogos implements the new service of OTEnet internet provider, enabling users to access through the telephone their email accounts and to manage their contacts, calendar, notes and scheduled tasks.
Dialogos offers the know-how and infrastructure necessary to deliver cutting-edge applications and integrated customer service solutions, using the most technologically advanced means. The “E-mail by Phone” application, through the speech recognition and synthesis technologies, makes it possible to respectively recognize the users’ verbal commands and to read with computer-generated voice the incoming emails. Email reading is possible whether these are written in Greek or in English, since there are two computer-generated voices of Dialogos’ text-to-speech system with the accent of native Greek and English speakers.
All OTEnet users having an email address of the type username@otenet.gr, can access the service by dialing +30 210 8765000. Subsequently, users’ identification and access to their personal account is performed by inserting the login name and password, thus ensuring data security.
Functionality
The options presented to “E-mail by Phone” users, concerning the management of their emails, are the following:
- E-mail reading through the telephone, performed by the text-to-speech application
- Information on the users’ incoming messages (announcement of subject, sender and messages’ size and time of receipt)
- Reading of both English and Greek texts (either with Greek fonts or with Greeklish, the unofficial writing of Greek-language texts with Latin alphabet)
- Announcement of attachments’ number, size and format
- Announcement of incoming messages’ recipients
- Brief overview of messages and contacts
- Sending replies to incoming messages’ senders or forwarding them to members of the user’s contact list
- Creating new email in the form of voice mail and sending it through the telephone to the user’s contact list members
Other services manageable through the application:
- Contact list management (searching for contacts, deletion of entries, updating or announcement of a contact’s data)
- Creation, deletion or brief overview of user’s scheduled appointments, notes and tasks through the telephone
- Access code modification through the telephone
